Seamless Gutter Warranty
10-year Installation warranty
What it is, what it covers and how it works:
· Mounting Failures – in cases of missing or damaged brackets and fasteners, not caused by ice or hail damage, such items will be repaired or replaced at no cost in a timely manner.
· Leaks – If there’s a flow or drip of water from a corner or seam, just let us know and we can reseal that area, our sealant can sometimes leave a small air bubble that pops after installation, leaving a small hole, it is a quick and simple fix. If a problem persists and requires a 3rd service call we completely replace the affected area at no cost.
· Improper Slope – in cases where gutter is holding significant (more than 1/4” of) water or flowing in the wrong direction, the gutter will be reset to correct the flow issue. For more details on proper slope, see Point 6 in our Installation Standards.
· Falling or Sagging Gutter – If the gutter system is sagging forward or falling, there will be a no-cost inspection to see what the cause is, and if a mounting failure it will be repaired, though most often sagging and falling is an issue caused by a failing substrate. During the inspection the installer will be looking to see if the gutter system mounting screws are still firmly connected to the gutter, and if the fascia boards are soft or rotten.
· Heat Buckle – heat buckle (see details about heat buckle here) is a failure we put a lot of effort into avoiding. In cases of heat buckle, if the installation was .032 thickness, the warranty covers full replacement of the affected area including labor and material. If the installation was .027 thickness, only labor is covered and you will be billed for material only in the replacement of the affected area.
Exceptions to coverage:
· Hail, Wind, and Ice Damage – see more information about these type of damage in our failures paper. If such damage occurs, we will be happy to give you a free remove/replace quote with damages listed to provide to your insurer.
· Overflow – overflow is not generally considered a warranty issue because it most often only has one of two causes: 1. Clogs, 2. Excessive Rain Event. If your gutters are overflowing, it will MOST OFTEN be a simply debris clog at the nearest downspout or outlet to the affected area. At The Gutter Guy, we put extensive effort into properly sizing your gutter to your house (see our sizing standards here), sometimes the East Texas weather exceeds our expectations, but these are isolated occurrences and not a sign of system failure.
· Substrate Failure – In cases where a gutter system suffers a catastrophic failure, such as a gutter falling off and the mounting screws are still secure in the gutter, or the gutter still secured to a fallen fascia board this is an example of the substrate failing and not indicative of an improper gutter installation. In such cases we will offer as much assistance as possible for the situation, which may be things such as: removing the old gutter so another contractor can repair the substrate, or if the fallen gutter is salvageable, removing it in a way that can be reinstalled after substrate has been repaired.
